Dear CBCC Family,
Oh no, not again, another Sunday storm! Due to the weather the past two weeks we moved our services from Sunday to Saturday evening. While it was definitely different to have our Worship Service on a Saturday night it worked out really well. Not only did we have great turnouts, many in our church family shared how they enjoyed the change. Some even joked that maybe we should permanently move the Worship Service to Saturday evening. It is funny how when we change things it gives us a different perspective and we actually may find that we enjoy the change that we were originally skeptical of.
Speaking of different, both Melissa and I have had opportunities recently to minister in a different context than we normally do. Melissa had the opportunity to speak at a ladies tea at one of our neighboring local churches. She really enjoyed her time and was encouraged to see many ladies from other area churches in attendance. We are big believers in the importance of churches partnering together so it is always encouraging when we witness multi-church gatherings. I had the opportunity to speak to students at a local Christian school. It had been a while since I had a chance to teach students so I enjoyed the opportunity.
The sanctuary renovation is complete! – We will be having our Worship Service in our church sanctuary for the first time in two months!
Spiritual conversations – Through the course of the renovations I have had many opportunities to build relationships and have conversations with our contractors. One of them came to our Christmas Candlelight Service and two of them are planning to attend our Worship Service this Sunday!
Our church – Now that a date has been set for us to leave (May 3rd), the fact that we are leaving has really sunk in for our church. Please pray for them as they go through this time of transition and for the Pastor Search Team as they review resumes and interview potential candidates.
Our family – With the move looming just a few months away there is definitely a greater sense of urgency. We have already started packing and are battling the feelings of being overwhelmed as we strive to fulfill our responsibilities while preparing for the move. Pray also for our kids, especially Alivia and Aubrey as they are not excited about moving.
Grace and peace,
Sam & Melissa McKeen
