“Jesus with skin on.”

Gary McGinn

Jesus said… “when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men to myself.” John 12:32

Practical ways to reach out…

f. Be teachable

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son. Romans 8:29

“God is working out His eternal purpose, not only in spite of human and satanic opposition, but by the means of them.”

A. W. Pink

Although he was a son, (Jesus) learned obedience from what he suffered. Hebrews 5:8

g. Be Calm

The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD; he directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases. Proverbs 21:1

“For nothing is impossible with God.” Luke 1:37

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-7

h. Give Comfort

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

So take your story and… “comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”

i. Respond (Don’t React)

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15

j. Stay Focused

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:2-3

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.” John 14:1

Thought to go:

When you are having a terrible day… just think: “I’m one day closer to heaven!”
