We believe that the true church (the universal church), which is the body and espoused bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born again persons of this (present church) age. Christ is the head of the body, the church, which has been commissioned to go into the entire world with the Gospel. We believe that the local church (Center Barnstead Christian Church) is a body of believers who are joined together to glorify God, through worship, fellowship, teaching of God’s Word, prayer and through the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. 1 Corinthians 12:12; Acts 1:8; Colossians 1:18, 24

We believe in the discipline of the local assembly of believers carried on by the Pastor, Elders and believers. The hope and goal of every effort to discipline shall be to restore a wayward brother and sister. When efforts to restore have failed, discipline shall be strictly attended to, so that God may be glorified in the world. Matthew 5:23-24; Galatians 6:1; Matthew 18:15-17; 1 Corinthians 5:4-5; 2 Corinthians 2:6-10
