The Steadfast Love of God - Center Barnstead Christian Church Blog Post

For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. – Isaiah 54:10

I find this verse to be one of the most comforting verses in the bible. When things get rough and I feel like my whole world is tumbling down around me, I can have total peace knowing that the creator of all things, my Hope, my Rock, my Savior, Healer, Friend, Counselor, and Provider’s steadfast love will not depart. I can always count on Him and His love for me.

As I ponder the last couple of months, I realize I might not have handled everything coming my way as I should have. Some things I put on a brave face for but inside my attitude was not as good. My Lord is so full of compassion. I am overwhelmed how He can look at this train wreck and have so much love and so much compassion for me. It is truly humbling and a reminder of what an awesome mighty God we serve.

This morning my son called and was venting. He said, “I can’t seem to catch a break.” I said I understand and can relate. Yet, in all the chaos, in all the problems, I have felt God’s comfort and peace. Even when I handled it wrong in my emotions, I still felt God’s love for me. This is a truth that we all need to hold onto with all our might. It allows us to keep fighting the spiritual battles as we are attacked. It stops the enemy from shaking our faith even when all else may be shaking.

Life with its circumstances and events may not always go as planned. It may seem like we are in an earthquake. However, we can rest assured that the one thing that will never be shaken is the love of God.

When we are able to stand in peace when everything seems to be going wrong, God’s love that never leaves us will shine bright to all those around us and draws them to Him. His steadfast love is a powerful force and I pray that all those that experience it will receive His salvation.
