Moses said, “Please show me your glory.” And he said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name ‘The Lord.’ And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.
Exodus 33:18-19
I don’t know how it is possible, but everyday I am even more amazed at the goodness of God. I think it’s not possible to see Him reveal anymore goodness to me because I have truly seen His manifest glory although I am so unworthy. Yet, another day comes along and I become even more amazed. Day after day His unending goodness is revealed to me. No matter what I am going through, whether I have no money, I am sick, my friends and family are sick, my car is broken, my basement is flooded, I have lost something, or all seems to be right in the world; God is always right there holding my hand and at times carrying me through. Reminding me that He will never leave me or forsake me. At every corner and turn on my journey, God reminds me that I can trust Him and that His word is true.
A couple months ago someone gave us a trailer. It was way too big for anything we needed, but I thanked God for the blessing. Soon after we had no money (well like $4 in the bank) we did not know how we were going to get through the end of December as I needed to still work, buy gas and get a few last minute Christmas things for the family. But God being rich in mercy and full of goodness passed before and had a buyer lined up for the trailer just in time. He kept my car going until he had everything lined up to get it fixed.
Over the last two weeks my family and I have been very sick and God has carried us through and allowed someone to be well enough in the house to take care of the others, Praise God! He allowed me to be sick after my busy season and at a time I could be home and see the blessing of my husband who took such wonderful care of me. He allowed me to be well enough to be out of bed this week to be available to do small favors for my best friend who is in the hospital after emergency surgery.
His goodness has given me the strength I need when I need it. His goodness has provided for all my needs. His goodness had comforted me when I could not get out of bed. His goodness has allowed me to see the blessing of my family and friends. His goodness has allowed me to see things I need to change and grow. His goodness has grown my faith and relationship with Him.
All through the years I could recount endless tales of the goodness of God in my life, how He gives me favor in different areas and has performed so many miracles. I encourage you to ask God to show you His goodness and then to look for the goodness of God in your life and I am sure you will be as I am, in complete awe of how He can continue to be so good all the time and let Him amaze you even more each and every day. I praise God for His glory that shows itself in many ways, one of which is revealed in His goodness. What an awesome God we serve!
